Glenwood Student Leadership Council

The Glenwood Student Leadership Council represents the voice of our students (La Voz De Glenwood). They help to organize community service projects, arrange school-wide special activities, and provide input on school decisions.

The 2026-27 Student Council Goals are:

• Help people in need, students, seniors, orphans, and the homeless.
• Model and promote great character, a growth mindset, and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
• Model how to be Safe, Responsible, and respectful.
• Motivate positive relationships to prevent bullying.
• Educate others to recycle & support our school’s Recycling Program.

The Student Council at Glenwood Elementary is a year-long commitment to improving the school community and the community at large through many forms of service. Students in third, fourth, and fifth are eligible to run for a position. The members represent the student body and work together on all projects or issues that come before the Student Council.

Below are the expectations by which all members of the Student Council are expected to abide.

Members represent all students as the Student Council. Therefore, they will treat the faculty/staff, student body & community-at-large with respect.

• Members must maintain a 3 or 4 in all academics, work habits, and conduct.
• Members must exhibit academic integrity. * May have 2s on the report card but show progress.
• Attendance at Student Council meetings is critical to the group's success. An excuse note to the Advisors should be provided before a Student Council member misses a meeting.
• Participation in service projects is also critical. Therefore, participation in events and service opportunities is expected. An excuse note to the Advisors should be provided before a Student Council member misses any community service.
• Student Council members are expected to be role models to the entire school and ambassadors for Glenwood Elementary.
• Serve as a Play Leader at the Kinder Yard.
