Principal's Message
Welcome to the Glenwood Family!

Dear Glenwood Family,
I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! My name is Brenda De Loera-Correa, and I am honored to begin my fifth year as principal of Glenwood Elementary. With 25 years of experience in education, I am as passionate as ever about our mission to serve students, families, and the community with care, purpose, and high expectations.
It remains a privilege to lead a school filled with curious, capable students, an incredibly dedicated staff, and a supportive, engaged community. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure every Glenwood student has access to the opportunities and tools they need to succeed.
A little about my journey: I was born and raised in Sun Valley, where I attended Camellia Avenue Elementary, Sun Valley Junior High, and North Hollywood High School. I’m a proud CSUN alumna with degrees in psychology, school psychology, and educational administration. Over the years, I’ve served in many roles across LAUSD—from paraprofessional to teacher, instructional coach, coordinator, and assistant principal—experiences that have shaped my deep commitment to public education.
At Glenwood, we believe every child is a leader, and that it is our shared responsibility—school staff, families, and the community—to help them become the best version of themselves. As a Leader in Me school, we will continue to teach and model The 7 Habits of Happy Kids to support student leadership, confidence, and character development.
Academically, we remain focused on delivering high-quality instruction in literacy, mathematics, and science, while also addressing the social-emotional well-being of our students. Our goal is to ensure that every student is not only prepared for academic success, but also equipped with the habits and skills needed to thrive in school and in life.
I strongly believe that student success is built on collaboration—and your involvement matters! Together, we can ensure that every child is seen, heard, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
